Chaseride across the valleys of JURA
During
the trip we are going to visit the Cave of Łokietek, where we will
taste a traditional hot wine. Then we will walk towards the Gate of
Cracow from where the chaises are going to take us to the Prądnik
Valley. To complete the trip we’ll take a part in typical Polish
fire.
The Cave of Łokietek (previously called Royal Cave) - is a karst
cave 320 meters long. There’s a legend connected with the cave which
refers to the king Władysław Łokietek who hid in it when he had
escaped from Cracow and an army of Wacław II followed him. He was
saved by a spider which covered the entrance with the cobweb and
caused that the army missed the cave. In the memory of that event
the cave was named this way just like each of its chambers, and
there is also a gate shaped like a cobweb at the entrance. To get to
the entry you have to cover the distance of 20 meters through a rock
split (it is a remain of a corridor). The main corridor leads to a
Knight Hall (25x10 meters) where two other corridors have their
start: a first one leading to the Bedroom (artificially created) and
the other one leading to the Kitchen, which is a chamber situated
near a ground level (there are tree roots hanging from the ceiling).
The Bedroom is the biggest chamber (20x30 meters).
