A monumental architecture of the
mountain regions.

During
the tour we sight-see a heritage park established in 1937 through
the donation for the Treasury done by the last inheritors of the
Muniak family. It totally displays the culture of the area around
Orawa (which is a historical land located in the middle of Europe in
the Orawa River basin) that is why here can be seen a housing
architecture with the whole equipment of the interiors and all types
of buildings connected with farming.
The most precious monument in the heritage park is the Muniak’s
house with its farmsteads. All these things let us get know how
gentlefolk used to live. Left wing of the house comes from XVIIth
century and is dated for 1784. The farmsteads, which were built
later then the house itself, were used to present different types of
regional economy.
Moreover, we will see Franciszek Kot’s cottage built in 1869 which
is a great example of how an average countryman used to live,
Paś-Filipek’s cottage where we can admire an exhibition of the
weaving, a place where there was produced an oil of the linseed,
smith’s workshop, a sawmill, folusz which is a building where all
the cloths were being processed, an apiary, a campanile, Miśińcas’
farm (with an old garden, an orchard, a smith’s workshop and a
detached cellar), wooden school built at the turn of the XIXth and
XXth centuries, two inns. All the showpieces and buildings come from
the period since XVII up to the turn of the XIXth and XXth century.
During the stay in the heritage park following workshops are
foreseen (to choose by the participants): “From seed to bread” (we
will see and take part in making bread), “Linen” (we will see and
take part in producing a linen material beginning from sheaves), “A
master and a student” (we will gain knowledge about glass painting
and paint our own picture on glass).
